happy new year!

the crowd gathers with this champagne bottles just before midnight.

can you believe we're already a week into it???

brad and i and our roommates, along with some other friends, celebrated the arrival of 2007 here in DC. on our way home, brad even tried to get our ethopian cab driver to come over the next day to watch football and smoke cigars. he did not oblige us. but it was a fun time anyway. see the evidence.
brad looks a little scary here. but apart from that, i kind of like the supppper-blown out look of this picture. i find it comical and surreal at the same time. and above, left, you see liz, burns and i breaking it down. it's not a party unless there is some serious dancing. and some michael jackson. we can't stop 'til we get enough.far above, our roomie colin. an arm whose owner i cannot place at this time. on the couch. then directly above, a photo of dave.. pointing.. where? and then me grabbing burns' face. and then there's gabe, doing something to liz. what that something is, i also cannot place at this time. to the right of them, brad and i are dancing (let out your vomit silently, please), but i like this picture despite its noise because it kind of reminds me of a pointalism painting (that's what they're called right?) and below, colin is making his typical colin face that he makes for photos and it looks like he is picking my teeth, but that is purely an illusion. he's just making his rock and roll symbol and i'm there holding his face to make sure .. well.. because, clearly, i do that to people. here we go, 2007.

that looks so fun! i can't believe i missed it because... well, because honestly, i was asleep. yeah. note to self: never, ever, ever go out as hard as you can to a bar that burns down so you can't close your tab and you have no cash and it's too late to take a taxi home so you have to sleep on a bean bag chair in the living room of an apartment of a legislator from rhode island that you never met before on the night before new year's eve and then have to wake up at 6 to go take your sister to the airport so she can go back to alabama. ever.
